Giving mamas a
confident
voice in their birth.

"When you understand the physiology of birth, it will change the way you want to Birth –– I guarantee it!"
Hey Mama!
Hi, I'm Kathryn Fauver, I am the owner of That Magnificent Mama. But first I am a wife, mother of three, and Register Nurse with 12 years of nursing experience. For 8 of those years, I had the joy of supporting moms through labor & postpartum as a labor and delivery nurse.

I received my master's in nursing education in 2020. Currently, I am a community college nursing school instructor. But my true love is preparing moms for labor and motherhood through education and support, that’s why I became a birth educator.

I prepare moms to have a voice in their birth!

Birth is not a medical procedure where the doctor is in total charge. I teach a mom and baby-centered birth. Together we will define what kind of birth you desire, and create a birth strategy to handle each stage of labor.

If you are a mama looking to have a voice in your birth experience, then you've come to the right place. That Magnificent Mama was founded to equip expectant moms with the information and options they need to make the right decisions for their birth.
That Magnificent Mama prepares moms to confidently take charge of their birth experience ––regardless of if they plan to use an epidural or not.
Kathryn Fauver MSN, RN

As an L&D nurse, there were two things I kept seeing at the births I attended:

First-time moms often came to the hospital unequipped for birth. They lacked strategies for coping with labor pain or birth because they thought all they needed to know was “I want an epidural” for a great birth experience. So if the epidural didn't control their pain or an unplanned event occurred, moms quickly became overwhelmed and felt out of control.
Second, after birth, too many moms were dissatisfied with their birth experience. Because moms were not aware of all their choices. They left many of the decisions to the medical care team and after the birth, they often stated, "I wish I had known..."
Don’t just “let” birth happen to you. Be active in your birth.
My heart breaks every time I’ve watched a mom unable to cope with labor pain because her plan A (epidural) didn't work or she had birth regrets.

That’s why I created That Magnificent Mama, so I can give you what you deserve to know before giving birth. I’ve been a part of thousands of births as well as my own 3 vaginal births.

But what is most important is discovering what your Magnificent Birth looks like and the actions needed.
I’ve seen many types of births, common and uncommon. My job is to give you the emotional and informational support you need, so you can make the right choices for your birth.

That Magnificent Mama is a place for moms-to-be to gain an understanding of the labor process, learn how to increase your chances for a vaginal delivery, comprehend all your pain management choices, be prepared for the unplanned, get your support person ready, and find support through the private community with other moms just like you!
I understand the pros and cons of using the different pharmaceutical pain management options as well as medical interventions.
I’ve personally used pain meds, I’ve had an induction as well as an au naturel birth. So I personally know the good and the bad, the easy and hard of medical interventions, and what it takes to have a natural birth.
I want to be your personal online labor coach. I’ll prepare you to have your best magnificent birth.

When I’m not working with new mamas, I love to knit, and hang out with my husband and lab dog Samson.

Family is very important to me. Having my grown children and grandchildren is truly my best days!

My idea of fun is when the sun is shining to fill my pots with beautiful flowers and sit out on my back patio with family and friends watching my hens peck and scratch in the flower beds.
